Dieter has been passionate about the Stock Market since he was 13 years old. He started investing with his father, just after the Great Financial Crisis of 2008-2009. Mostly due to luck, the first investments they made together turned-out to be big winners, which triggered in Dieter a thirst for knowledge about the financial markets. Dieter read hundreds of finance books and started writing as an independent financial analyst for websites like Seeking Alpha (at the age of 17). Dieters first published article was in January 2013 about investing in the electronics manufacturer Harman International (published in January 2013), in which he recommended the Stock as a Strong Buy. Three years later the company was acquired by Samsung with a return of +128%.
Dieter then enrolled at the Artevelde Hogeschool in Ghent and graduated with a degree in Business Management & International Business in 2017. Dieter has always been an independent analyst, launching his own value-investing platform whilst he was still in college. After appearing in a national Belgian newspaper, Dieter quickly gained popularity due to his value-investing style of stock picking called “Crème de la Crème”. One year later his value-investing platform got taken over by a larger publisher of investment newsletters.
Dieter continued to work as an independent analyst and his stock analysis has been read by thousands of investors from Belgium and the Netherlands. Dieter studied everything from small caps to large caps and from cyclical industries to defensive consumer goods, in the USA and EU.
In 2020, Dieter also joined de Artevele Hogeschool as a lecturer, delivering the “Introduction to Financial Markets” program to finance students.
During his career as a fundamental value stock-picker, with an investment time-horizon of 3+years, Dieter
published more than 200 stock recommendations via several publications. His hit rate is a phenomenal 80%.
In 2022, Dieter decided to take his Financial Markets experience to another next level by approaching ITPM to join their 2022 Thailand Trader Mentoring Program. Whilst Dieter realized he was excellent at picking value stocks, he still felt that his skills were not good enough to really make it big in the financial markets. As a Long Only Value Investor, Dieter had no knowledge of Long / Short Portfolio Management, especially in a trading time horizon and no knowledge of Options Trading. He effectively was unaware of how to protect a Long Only portfolio from drawdowns. So, he sought out a Trading education with ITPM.
Dieter embarked on a bold move. He sold his car and went all in to get mentored from September 2022 to January 2023 by Anton Kreil via the ITPM Thailand Trader Mentoring Program. Dieter was blown away by the knowledge ITPM had to offer and after a successful Mentoring Program with Anton, he adopted a lot of ITPM practices in his own investment process.
During his 12-week Mentoring Program Dieter booked $52,177 profit for a return of +42% (starting capital $122,868).
In the 7 months after the program, Dieter booked an additional $62,845 for a total return of +93,62%.
In 2024, Dieter became a published author with his finance book “De verloren kunst van het shorten” Translated: “The Lost Art of Shorting.” In this book Dieter also talks about how his Mentoring Program with Anton Kreil changed his life as an Investor, Analyst and Trader.
Dieter is adamant that his decision to join ITPM, to be educated as a Trader and Mentored by Anton Kreil was one of the best decisions of his life and believes it is the best investment any Retail Trader or Investor can make to increase their knowledge in Financial Markets and to start trading successfully.
